As for the Retail Price of your book
Bookstores / Online booksellers buys books from Publishers', at 55% OFF Retail Price (Max) and as low as 45% off. Why? So they can Resell the book at Full Price or at 5%-20% off, to their customers. And at the same time make their money back, for what they paid to buy the book to Resell and a profit to stay open.
Wholesalers / Distributors buys books from the publishers at 65% - 45% off the Retail Price. And Resell the book to Bookstores / Online Booksellers at, 45% - 30% Off. Why? to make their money back and a profit to stay open.
If your book is priced too high Booksellers will not take interest in listing your book for sale. As they know customers will not buy the book at that high price.
Also if you give a small discount to buy your book at Wholesale cost. They will not take interest in your book.
Also this is a BIG thing. If you make you set your book at Non-Returnable. Again booksellers / wholesalers / distributors will not list your book, or carry inventory to resell. They will only list the book as virtual inventory in their system to sell to their customers. And will not order extra copies for stock inventory.
